Anybody got a write up for installing 2 grill lights such as these:

Whelen Engineering - Lightheads - Lightheads, Directional Strobe, Super-LED

hopefully your write up includes wiring it to the fuse box, i think that'd just be the safest for me to do in terms of draining the battery. Also i hope you have an idea for a manual switch on the inside of the car so the lights dont just turn on with the car in aux or ignition.

    Thanks

i would splice them into your fog lights so when the fogs switch is on the led's come on too... otherwise, run a wire all the way to the fuse box and use the ciggy lighter for power and put a switch where you want it... done

i like the fog light idea, but mine are switched on all the time, they have some kinda sensor in them that they only turn on in like cloudy, rainy ish kinda days. i dunno how to describe it but the switch is always in the on position but the lights are not always illuminated

im not to familiar with this... maybe there is a fuse that could be pulled to disable automatic lights???? just something to check i guess... i assume they are on at night so i would still just wire them with the fogs, who cares if they are on during the day they are led's.... they run for a long time!

Also what size gauge wire do you think would be necessary for these kinda lights?

I took the plastic piece off in the foot well and ran them to the center console. and if you want to place them/route them in a certain spot you could go to target or such a place with 3M products and look for some plastic hooks that have the sticky backs to them.

It depends on how many LED's you are planning to run. In the tech specs for the product it should say how many leds and some say how much power each led takes to power it (doesnt take much). Depending on how much power you need is going to depend on the gauge but you wont need too little of a gauge considering LED's take up nearly no power at all

I'd go with a ten amp fuse max with 16 gauge wire

cause if they are LEDs like mine. They use 12 milliamps which is like one hundreth of an amp
