Ok, when I bought my car the vehicle only came with a key. Now when my doors are opened a red light blinks on top of the center dash. Does that mean my factor alarm is working and I just need a fob? If so where would I get one? Thanks guys a bunch!

The flashing red light means its working.
When I shut my doors the red light will blink and then when I press the lock button on the fob the light will continue to blink showing that it is working.
and here is where you can get one,
1997 1998 1999 2000 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX KEY REMOTE FOB : eBay Motors (item 370403986535 end time Aug-01-10 23:18:53 PDT)
I bought one off here before and it worked great, they give you the info on programing and everything and its way cheaper than asking a dealership for one.
Ok sounds good but just to make sure...the red light stops blinking once the car is locked, what does that mean, the alarm isn't activated?
The red light will blink when the car is locked. This tells you that the system is working.
As a test, roll your window down, lock your doors, reach in, manually unlock a door and open the door from the outside, the alarm should sound, but then again, not sure how youd shut off the alarm with no key fob.
I was lucky and recieved 4 keys and 4 key fobs when I got my car. Original Owner FTW!!!!
I think when the red light is blinking, the alarm is activated. In your manual, it says that when you lock the car twice with the key fob, the alarm will activate. If the red light is not blinking when you exit the car, then the alarm is not activated. I think every car has an alarm system, you just need the key fob to activate it. I know when I lock it from the inside, the red light is not blinking therefore the alarm is not activated. I'm pretty sure you NEED the key fob to activate the alarm.
Yes that's exactly what I was thinking. Just ordered my key fob 17$ ftw!
