Just wondering how fellow members have mounted the rear deck speakers (6x9) so that they are flush with the inlay?

heres my plan... In my grand prix the 6x9's sit a couple inches below the carpet board and are screwed to a plastic mount which rattles and is flimsy... i fiigured if i mounted them right to the carpet board I would be able to eliminate the plastic mount but dont know for sure how to do it... thinking maybe taking quarter inch plywood and carpeting it to match and cutting the hole for the bottom of the speaker to sink into

You need to take a better look at your car. The 6x9 enclosures bolt and clip into the metal rear deck. I doubt you can directly bolt them in w/o getting a plate to take up the excess space.

I dynamatted to solidify them in my Regal. May be a cheaper/easier way for you.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    6x9's are useless anyways.

That MDF "recess" should have been a port for a bandpass sub.

I dont want the bandpass i only want to get my speakers to sit flush, thats it... I know how I'm gonna do it... going to use mdf and mount the speakers then re-carpet the whole rear inlay so it looks good...
