I have two '07 CompVR 12's in my car in the stock Kicker ported box right now and they're working fine, but there's a pair of '05 CompVR's someone is selling for $200, so I was thinking about getting them and doing a nice install in my car. They're all dual 2 ohm VC subs, and I'm thinking of getting new amps & new mids/highs to complement them. How big of a box would all 4 be, and i'm assuming I'd want it ported. Also, is there a way to wall them off so I can still have trunk space (for bookbag, bags, etc.) I know I'll need an electrical upgrade big time if I do too. Thanks guys.

EDIT: Okay, I decided instead of going Memphis amps, that two kicker ZX750.1 amps will work. Each sub is dual 2 ohm, so wiring the individual sub in series, then pair them up in parallel puts them back at 2 ohms, meaning minimum 750w RMS to each pair, which is good because the RMS rating per pair is 800w RMS (400w RMS per sub). What would you guys suggest as the best speakers/amp combo for mids/highs? (Remember, 5 1/4" + tweeters in doors & 6x9's in back.

    sounds like a bad idea.

how about you design a system for the car instead of using what you already have? It works out better that way.

You could wall it, but how in the hell does the sound get into the cabin? It wont. Either you leave the passthrough open or you remove your rear 6x9's and pray you dont get a terrible bandpass enclosure thing going on there.

How would you need electrical for 1600 watts RMS if you never use it? And by electrical I mean a HO alternator.

What is the goal here? To make some subs your going to get a "deal" on work in your car in addition to the other ones you have?

Why not sell your old subs and get better subs?

As for the more important 15 octaves of the 16, how are you not running into issues already?

You mean 10's blend better than 12's with your speakers.

id go with two high end 10's. some JL's or Kickers. possible a ported box? i have to 12's and its getting to be an annoyance. im probably going to sell them and get 2 10's in a sealed box. another question what music to you listen to. rap has a deeper bass. rock seems to have a tighter bass.

EDIT: some rap has deeper, longer bass notes.

Size of the sub has nothing to do with it if you actually have a REAL midbass solution and not just stock speaker replacements.
