    Hi everyone,

The display on my radio is going. Goes dim/bright often but also goes out sometimes. Other times it displays garbage on the screen instead of numbers. My car is a 2003 Grand Prix GT with the steering wheel controls and HUD. Is it possible to swap this radio with an '04-'08 model? Would it fit properly and plug in without changing the wiring? Would the steering wheel controls still work?

    Thanks,
    ron

Im guessing those won't work. The radios in our cars can be found in Grand Prix, Grand Ams, Firebirds, sunfires, Montana's, etc. Theyre a dime a dozen in the Junkyards. Just go pick up a new one from there, change the bulb in the display while you have it out and install it.

Okay everyone thanks for the heads up. I'll just get a replacement. Is there anything special I need to do with regards to the Theftlock? I'd hate to get that thing activated by accident.

    1. Disconnect battery
    2. Replace radio
    3. Reconnect battery

Is this correct or a recipe for disaster on grand prix's?

    Thanks again,
    Ron

check your owners manual to turn off theft lock so you dont have to worry about it. ive never had it on in my GP. if its on then you have to enter a code i believe. but once you set it to on or off, it stays like that
