    if the RCAs are not connected and you are still gettin engine noise, then its the head unit. resolder the grounds or have someone do it, then make sure its reinstalled properly and not vibrating against any metal or anything that would make the problem happen again

    i didnt wanna start a new thread, but did you run your power wire to the power input at the top of the engine bay fusebox?
