need some help I got a Kenwood KFC-W3012 12"@4ohms hooked to Rockfosgate BD1000a1 amp.I've had this set up for about 6 months.
A few days ago I started hearing pop coming from the sub on certain
bass notes. I turned down the gain a little below half now can't hear
sub unless I turn the HU way up.

Sounds like you had the gain too high. Is it still "popping" since you turned the gain down? Installing a sub is more difficult than just placing it in your trunk. The direction it fires and the enclosure play a big role in how it responds.

Make sure you push STRAIGHT down on it and not on the dust cap if it has one.

it depends on the set up mostly(box)... last 2 systems i ran in my grand prix were faced up towards the rear deck and trunk lid... and yes it got very loud. LOL both were sealed boxes, 4 jl12w3's and 1 18" Fi Q
