so i cleaned my headlight lens and my lights were still dim as hell. so i looked and i saw a metal shield around the bulb inside the lens. i took the bulb out pulled the shield out put the bulb back in and boom. brightest iv ever seen my light. i was wondering if the part is needed? or if everything will be ok with it out. i will put a pic of it here to help show what it was.

i know what your taking about and technically, yes, cause now the light won't reflect the way its intended to and you will blind everyone

I've ran removed diffusers with stock lighting before and it helps out. And NO it won't blind everyone. Anyone who says that hasn't tried HIDs, now that will blind you! I wouldn't trade my HIDs for nothing!

i had removed mine, and never blinded any1 or myself. it looked better, cause i had blue bulbs, so when i took them off the whole inside of the headlight looked blue.

yea i took them off and drove tonight and omg let me tell you what. it makes such a good difference with them out then them in. i can actually see coyotes running across the street 30-40 feet ahead of me lol. much better then being able to see a rabit on 4 feet ahead of my bumber.

How easy was it to remove?

Does it break when removed, so you cannot put it back if desired?

I have not looked into it myself, but the headlamps suck on these cars!

yes it is a 2min job. f unplug and pull out the bulb. untwist the black retainer that the bulb sits in. then use one of your fingers inside the whole where the bulb would be and just press up and kinda pull. you will feel it move a little i just rocked it back and forth till i was able to pull it straight out. its not that delicate so you should be alright. and just make sure you put it all back together right after you take it out -- and i the bulb may be locked in by the black retainer so either way it still has to come off befor you can get to the shield. if you have any other ?'s let me know
