I have been trying to run an amp power wire for about 2 hours now. I tired running the wire thru a grommet on the drivers side but gave up on that. From what I've read on the forum it's alot easier to run it under the glovebox on the passenger side. I located the grommet under the hood but am not sure where its located in the interior. Is the picture below what I need to slice into in order to feed the wire thru? If not where exactly is this grommet located in the interior? Thanks!

thats it buddy, you need to take off the plastic trim around the door to get the carpet up then you can see it right under the glovebox.

Three screws, maybe four, but only one plastic piece.

On the engine side of the firewall theres a thin plastic boot you'll need to get through, just poke it with a screwdriver and push it through there.

I just did this last week. Take a needlenose or whatever you can to pull that square plug out. Once thats out take a knife and notch a bigger hole for your power wire to fit through. Then tape a clothes hanger to the wire and push it through that thin boot behind where the plug goes. Then just find it and feed up up away from the belt and your done.

Sorry to revive the thread, but I'm working on the same project and I was wondering if you could be a little more detailed about where that is, do I have to look under the car because I can't seem to find it! Thanks!

It's just big enough to fit the wires that are already going through it. No way you would fit a run of sub wire without notching it out.

maybe thats a small 97-03 issue cause my 06, I just jabbed it with a screwdriver and stretched it, took 20 secs.

Yes yes the grommet itself, i did that too. There is like a rubber plug that goes in that hole too, that is what they are talking about.

Yes I remember when I had to do this. The rubbed plug is a pain to get out unless you grab it with some plyers. I didn't evenput mine back in and it works just fine without. Took a screw drivers and drove it though the plastic cover on the firewall side and then it was simple as pie to push the wire through from the firewall.
