I got a 98 GTP coupe, everything's stock including audio system. I have the cassette player with EQ and 6CD in the trunk which I don't use. I find that once in a while, shortly after i start up the car and back out of my driveway/parking spot, the volume of my stereo starts to go up until it reaches an INSANE level and I have to manually turn it back down.I use a cassette adapter to listen to my zune mp3 player.
I usually use my steering wheel controls for volume or mute and thought maybe the knob was set to a higher position, but that's not the case. A friend of mine who used to have a Bonneville said his stereo would turn itself up slightly based on speed, to compensate for road noise, but it never went haywire like mine does haha. All my fuses look good. Haven't found anything in my owner's manual about the problem. Bad connection? Anybody else had this problem with their sound system?
Thanks in advance for any help!
