Do you have a pair of speakers at home you can experiment with to find the kind of sound you'd get with different installs?
Most basic test is, take the two speakers, place them in the corners of the room, then faces the speakers DIRECTLY at each other and sit 10 feet back and to the side like so:
If you don't mind how that sounds, then I'll find some speakers that will do well for you.
If you miss the imaging, or the illusion that the noises are coming from somewhere between the two speakers, lemme know.
