ok so i bought a pair of LED Grille lights a while back thinking "any dummy can put these on" but i guess im no ordinary dummy. The mounting is easy enough but all the directions say for hooking them up to a elctircal sourse is connect the black wire to the chassis ground. connect the the red to a switched 12V sourse, such as the parking lights. Not every detailed for someone who does not know much but my main question is what is the chassis ground and how do i do that??

    thanks

A ground is any really metal bolt. just tighten the wire to the bolt and that's it really. lol It took me a while to figure that out too.

Connect a switch between your 12v source to your led's so you can turn them on and off. That'll give you a closed circuit

Yea you can connect it to your fog light switch, but I don't recommend it because some states prohibit any LED lighting on your car. But check before you do it.

What you'll have to do is rip apart your dash and take the wires for your fog lights and try and find the positive wire. I'm not sure which one that would be so your gonna have to find out, and then just wire them to your LED's. I don't know if the LED's draw enough power for it to weaken the output of the fog lights but it might not.

Ok heres the best way to do this

Buy a switch (i perfer a glow duck bill switch so i know when it's on and not on)
Buy a drill bit for mounting the switch (the duck bill is a 1/2in drill bit i think)
    Buy electrical tape

Find a spot to put the switch i put it in the little spot on the left side of the stering wheel its a little cubby it pops out i drilled a hole into it twards the right side and had do also cut some of the plastic behind it. Now the switch has a place to go you need to run the wires.

heres how i ran them. Start and the led on the bumper i went twards the passanger side and i went through the holes next to the radiator then behind the battery then up behind the fuse box then through the firewall (same spot that my sub wire goes through) if you cant find a spot make one with a small drill bit. then run the wires over to the driver and up and around where the switch is. now take out the center trim where the shifter is and there are two wires that run to the cig.. lighter one red and once black and both wires are a constant 12volt source don't touch these togeather when the wires are bare. Now strip a small spot on the red wire and attach a piece of speaker wire to it and tape it off then run that to the power spot on the switch then do the same with the black wire but before you hook it up twist it togeather with the ground from the led switch and hook it up to the ground spot on the switch and last hook the power wire from the led wire to the acc spot on the switch then test if it works then put everything back togeather and your done.

But keep in mind that you want to keep everything tucked away so it looks nice when done.

    Hope this helps

both my underbody lights and my PA speaker switches were ran to under my dash ( by the floorboard) hidden so u cant see them from normal sitting ( i have to feel but I know where they are ) . Can be bought from Radio Shack, all kinds available.

When grounding, any bolt that bolts into something metal on ur engine bay. here Is a trick though, most bolts are probably alittle too big to mount that wire SECURELY, if u want to be extra safe, u can buy these things that look like Captain Hook's hand but with a perfect "C", I have some of those lying around ( sorry forget the name and make of those things ). I like to do things "right", just to make sure they don't come un-done...

basically same thing when you ground your subs amp.
