Speakers use AC current so you'd need to connect the positive and negative in order for it to work.

but wouldnt tht mean wiring my entire system? some guy at advanced said it might work because there already grounded to the chassis?

Speakers don't have grounds, only positive and negative terminals. You need to wire ever speaker with a positive and negative terminal. There is no getting around that. Not even bose can do that.

You are right and you are wrong here. Why? Let me tell ya. Only your headunit might have actual ground wire that is hooked up to the car. Your speakers DO NOT have a ground wire that is hooked up to the chassis. Plain and simple. Big difference. When you say your speakers are grounded to the chassis, that is incorrect. YES obviously they are grounded via the speaker wire's negative ground wire, but they are NOT connected to the chassis in any way. The ground you speak of comes from the Headunit's ground.

All you need to do is get the appropriate adapter to fit your car. Some adapters have the addons for OnStar to keep your chimes and the use of OnStar still available. I have an 03 GTX with OnStar, but i never used it so I went with the adapter that did not have the OnStar addon, which usually runs $150 bucks. My adapter only ran me about $30 bucks and i simply spliced the wires between the adapter and the new HU's wiring and it worked perfectly.

I hope that clears some things up for ya.

You can get the cheap harness then just run a jumper wire from your remote turn on on the deck to the pink wire on the bose harness.

I've been led to believe connect the accessory 12V and connect that to the pink wire. Thats supposed to turn on the factory amp so you should be able to keep it.

Can't guarentee it though. I'm not sure if the signal going to the factory amp i supposed to be amplified or not.

No you said to use an accessory 12v wire, then the amp would have power the whole time the key is on. Run it with the remote wire so it is just on when the cd player is on. That way if you are having issues with the charging system you can turn the deck off and the amp will quit pulling power too.

and its also the correct way + saves the amp from just sitting there on with nothing to do

    Right, see the difference now.

I'll just leave it at, you're still f*cked if your charging system fails. Still use the remote.
