Hi I recently just bought my 98 Grand Prix, it has the eight speaker stereo system with the CD trunk changer. The radio barely works and the volume knob only works some of the time and I can't even see the display on the stereo. The trunk CD changer will load the CD's fine but they will not play either.

I would like to replace the factory stereo with a stereo that has a CD player actually in the car with me instead of in the trunk.

What would be some good suggestions. I'm totally new to the Grand Prix and I'm sorry if I'm double posting.

Ok now my second question. Is there a wiring harness and adapter kit so it looks factory? Also do I need to any other wiring or modifications for the deck to work?

no prob man... the dash piece " bezel " comes off pretty easy... it helps if u put the car in 1st and jus feel around the whole piece and u can tell where the clips are... gently pull on it and it will come out... the clips can break easily so jus be careful.. i usually start from the top of bezel and work its way down
