    yes iroccamarofan is right but the only thing is if you get a line out converter then, you will be able to set the sub to only receive the lower frequencies

    Ok so now you still need to amplify the signal for the subwoofer. The output is not going to be enough to properly drive the woofer. You are still better off saving your pennies for a proper car audo amp and woofer and do it right the first time. You will have less problems, it will be done correctly, and sound much better!

    this is true but if you wanna be cheap you can use a home audio sub as long as it has an amp built into it, because most of them have an amp built into them.
