im working on putting my alpine head unit into the car and i was wondering if any one had or is running an alpine CDA-9856 head unit and a PAC SWI-X Steering Wheel Controls Interface. im asking this because the PAC adapter operates from 38-40kHz carrier frequency. I tried to find this on line and it was an epic failure so i figured that maybe you guys could answer before i confuse the crap outa the customer support people at alpine

any help or other options would be awsome

thanks in advance guys u guys are the first i turn to when i cant find this stuff on line. keep up the great work

This might help, not entirely sure though. I have a Pioneer System so I can not comment accurately on your question, but hopefully this link might help somewhat....

The pac swi-x should work fine. You can always email the guys at crutchfield and ask them. But I did a little research and to me the adapter will work.

I use the swi-x. It comes with instructions. You can also find the instruction on pac audio's site. The one I saw on crutchfield was the pac swi-jack. That one is supposed to be plug and play. The swi-x has an infrared led which needs to be mounted somewhere for the headunit to receive the signal. Either one should work.

Did a quick search and came up with this link.
Alpine RUE-4202 Remote Control for 2005-2008 Head Units New

Paypal is easy to set up. Just go to their site and read up on it. Once oyu find the item you want on ebay you can use your pay pal account to pay. Pretty simple. If you are not comfortable with this then it seems like $20 is the going price for the remote.
