Anyway to shut your daytime running light off or shut your lights off at night?
i tryed to engage the ebrake just a tad...that didnt work. can't remember who told me that did it...it didn't.
On a 2008 you can. What year is yours
there is a thread on here that will tell u how to shut them off.......i have a99 and i just pulled a fuse from under the dash...was a long time ago so i forget where it was exactly but if u search u will find out how
on a 2007 you can't, I've asked and searched for a way to do it and not been able to
hes got a 2000
i've got a 98
i ment the dude who made this thread lol
i wasent replyin to you :P
u have to have the key off then engage your e brake one click and then turn your key on and u will have no lights!
^^ that doesn't work on all cars....
the DRL's on my 99 haven't worked in a couple months.. just the auto lights
just pull the fuse, its like a whole new world.
I think there is a way to turn off your auto lights. Now don't quote me but it SHOULD work. I have no idea what it is though :-/ If anyone has a 99-2002 silverado check the owners manual. There is a sequence with the headlight switch and the ignition key that will disable the auto on headlights. Now this will probably only work on 99 and up Gp's but it should work since they are essentially the same systems. Somebody do some diggin.
p.s. to the o.p. I'm totally from Mason City Ia too.. word

Ok. No. If a car is equipped with auto headlights by law there HAS to be a way to override the system besides just pulling a fuse. Didn't you wonder why there was an off position on the switch? Edit: Now that I've had 10 min. to brood I'm rather upset with your statement. How could you possibly state that only pulling the fuse would work? You can pull the fuse, unplug the sensor (may throw a code or disable lights altogether), click the e-brake, try my override, or diode the sensor as well! All of these will effectively shut down the auto headlight system. Let's not just assume that because your method is widely used that it is the only method. Ignorance is never appreciated.

i tryed that and i just dont feel comfy driving around with my ebrake light on!
try this site http://lightsout.org/ I believe this is were I got the info to do it on my 01 Gt
The ebrake trick worked in my 2000 gp. Will it do anything to the brake even though its only one click?
You should also just be able to pull the fuse out in the fuse panel on the 2000 gp's but, on the 2001 and newer doing that cuases a relay in the drl module to keep makeing an annoying clicking sound. So you have to remove some wires from the drl module the link I have posted above is what I think I used and it worked fine. I also bypassed the auto dimming sensor with a relay between the two wires I believe I used a 3 ohm resistor to do this.
