I think there is a way to turn off your auto lights. Now don't quote me but it SHOULD work. I have no idea what it is though :-/ If anyone has a 99-2002 silverado check the owners manual. There is a sequence with the headlight switch and the ignition key that will disable the auto on headlights. Now this will probably only work on 99 and up Gp's but it should work since they are essentially the same systems. Somebody do some diggin.
p.s. to the o.p. I'm totally from Mason City Ia too.. word

Ok. No. If a car is equipped with auto headlights by law there HAS to be a way to override the system besides just pulling a fuse. Didn't you wonder why there was an off position on the switch? Edit: Now that I've had 10 min. to brood I'm rather upset with your statement. How could you possibly state that only pulling the fuse would work? You can pull the fuse, unplug the sensor (may throw a code or disable lights altogether), click the e-brake, try my override, or diode the sensor as well! All of these will effectively shut down the auto headlight system. Let's not just assume that because your method is widely used that it is the only method. Ignorance is never appreciated.
