Right price/ features for me, not an audiophile, generally prefer stock radio and despise little tiny buttons.

I know I need a PACS adapter for my steering wheel controls.

    TIA,

I just put this Pioneer 6700 in my 02, I paid $129 for it at Crutchfield. I liked the Pioneer units because you can display the time on the large primary display which is great for old guys like me. I also like the colors, you can set the display and frame colors separately, I used red to match the dash.

i linked a sony in a different thread on here somewhere its 400 watts. 50rms per corner 100watt max x4

that gets my vote built in amp and 400 watts is double what most put out.

$200 bucks too off sonicelectronics i think.

Thanks folks, that gives me some stuff to think about. I'd really like to just add an aux in to the stock hu but not sure I want to risk making it go completely inoperable.

That's a nice deck! You should look at new 6x9's for the rear and rounds for the doors too, that amp will blow up the factory speakers in short order. I have the factory Bose system in my '02, so I used the line level output adapter to keep that in place.

Didn't think of that, I'll have to look up the stock stuff and make sure I don't buy anything too powerful.

LOL and it was $10 cheaper than I paid! Prob on Amazon now....Nothing wrong with that Sony that Tyler Tibs posted, it looks like a nice unit, just use that power sparingly until you upgrade the OEM speakers.

BTW, that Kenwood you posted originally is nice too, buy what you like!

The PO had already installed the GTP lighted backplate when I bought the car in August. However, he was a member here and I recall seeing them for sale somewhere her on the forum, maybe somebody knows? What's cool is where you see red on the stereo can be set to a bunch of different colors, and the display can be set independently to any of the same colors. I set the frame color to red to match the dash and the display to white so I can read it. Red is too hard to read in the daylight, for this old guy anyways....
