The locations with the large arrows indicate tabs that need to be removed. Only way to access this is by removing the bumper cover. The small arrow in the middle is the location of the piece that gave me issues earlier.

Alright. Every time I researched changing the coolant on this vehicle, removal of the splash guard was said to be required. I could not reach the upper or lower rad hoses with anything, not even a 90 needle nose. So started removing the splash guard. In order to remove the splash guard completely you HAVE to remove the bumper cover. Its clearly indicated in the pictures I posted earlier.
I didn't need to remove my bumper to get the guard off but then again I have an 04 but not gxp. Can't imagine the bumper and all the front end stuff is that much more different.
Pretty sure when Reptile and I installed the transmission in my GXP, we removed the entire plastic splash shield guard sh1t without removing the bumper.Quote:

And just looking at the GM FSM just now it dosent even call for this, so i dont know where this b.s about the splash guard even started
I have no idea either. Like I said from the only research I was able to pull up online this is all I could find on it. So I tried it. Gave me plenty of room not ideal but it worked.

Since needle nose pliers was mentioned... I think i know why more room was needed.

Never seen a hose clamp like that. How does it work, do you feed the other end of the wire back into the tool to create a loop?
the end of the tool are two clips that grip the stock spring clamp when you squeeze the handle .
I feel that if you searched YouTube for hose clamp tool, that you'd get a kick butt vid. I can't because of where I am.
