You'll be fine as long as you have a built transmission and a hacksaw.
whats gonna give me more power a procharger or a turbo?? i think the procharger will be an easier install
hacksaw?
And I'd bet you your car that it isn't.
Where are you going to mount it, since it's belt driven. On a stick like the Novi2000's for the V6 cars?
You need a transmission for either anyways. So, do that.
im just asking quesitons right now man still trying to figure out what i wanna do and i plan on building my transmission
transmission first..... thank us later
It's the weak point in all these cars, especially the GXP.
Been there; done that.
You'll be dumping nearly the cost of a turbo kit or whatever power adder you choose into the transmission just to be able to handle the power. To save it now; hopefully...do a pan drop, shift kit, new filter, and a trans cooler. Bypass the radiator as well.
For a power adder..either heads/cam/nitrous...or a turbo kit. Either will put up about the same numbers. Both will cost probably about the same in the long run as well.
so will building the transmission and adding spray do what i want lol
already have a cooler and gonna be doing a shift kit soon..... and i am aware the the transmission is the weakest link in the car.... i have done my research i post this just to see if anybody has done the install i asked about....
I vote trans mods then better intake manifold and spray. from there it gets expensive fast. the trans is going to be expensive no matter what really.
to the op read read read and read some more about the gxp and these transmissions after youve read for ohh say a month then read some more.
ls1tech.com has a decent gxp ls4 section thats fairly active too.
To answer your question.
No, no one uses a Centrifugal blower for a reason. It ain't gon wurk.
Snail it, spray it, or leave it alone.
if i did a procharger it would be completely custom they dont build a kit for the car
Go for it.
With the right amount of money I'm sure you can do it.
But is it worth it?
Probably not.
The logistics are jacked . either you hack up the whole water manifold and make a custom heater, thermostat, coolant distribution block.
Then you would need a custom plate made to support the housing unit. It will have to be a reverse rotation unit as well. Which are more expensive. And then you can run it. But only with our stock belt. Can't have a separate belt system like everyone else...
Sound efficient? Go turbo, or a direct port nitrous and call it a day.
It'd be the cost.
Hell, you could probably buy another GXP by the time you'd build an entire setup between R&D that'd even work without hiccups.
Transmission mods and nitrous thats is all for a GXP hell even a GXP turbo kit costs what like 5k? 5k buys a damn nice supercharged grand prix that already makes more hp and tq than a gxp.........
hell show me 5k ill sell mine.
So in summary 3800>ls4!
And above you'll notice the ls4 haters slowly munching on a mouth full of grass. They travel in packs and hate on the sexier ls4 model grand prixs!
