as far as tube vs bar & plate goes, ive had both. i bypassed the stock cooler (basically heater) and ran just a tube style which ran hotter than the stock setup, heat soak was instant. now with a roughly 12 x 10" bar and plate it runs 185-195* constant, unless im in stoplight races non stop.

as far as pricing you can make a kit for under $100 all day, the cooler at most is $50-60 and some hose and clamps cant possibly be $40. Anyone in the Dubuque, IA area that needs a Cooler let me know, I got some Ill sell for damm near nothing, like $20. never used on a running transmission, just had fluid through them as they came on rebuilts we get

pisses me off...leaves mpg on the table all for the sake of NVH.

    **** NVH

ill deal with a "5th shift" and bs for a longer lasting, cooler trans without tcc material floating around.

also find your uneccessary downshifts at tp% and eliminate em. half the time, top of lower gear downshifts just waste time and heat the trans up/wear and tear of 2 extra shifts.

    turbo cars love not downshifting

I have the cooler from TEP, but I also have a na 3800. Trans temps would get to around 221* before new trans and cooler were installed. Now on a hot day with long periods of stop and go, we see about 175-185*. I didn't read every comment because I didn't really care to read, but I think a cooler is a good investment. No matter if you beat on it or not.

I honestly have only hammered on this thing while staying in one gear...knowing that, hottest I've seen is to date is 215*...still 30*+ more than what I would normally want to see.

Buying the Hayden cooler for now...if I feel like upgrading in the future then I'll pick up the TEP. Unless I call Dave for max deals
