So i just found some obvious oil puddles on the concrete coming from my 06 Grand Prix Gxp with 91,000 miles. I looked underneath it and it looks like its coming from some place above the crank pulley. There's a little oil dripping off the oil pan but its not coming from there its just running off it. There is also some oil coming off the belt tensioner spring so it must be somewhere above that. its not under the crank pulley so not the main seal or oil pan as far as i can see. I'm guessing its leaking from some oil line they ran up the passenger side of the engine. Also there is a little oil on the power steering pump line at the top of the engine. No oil anywhere else that i could see. Anybody else have a similar issue or an oil leak around the same area?? Thanks for any input and sorry if this has been talked about before i couldn't find any info in this exact leak. Thanks again.

Spray brake cleaner all up and down the areas in question get it nice and clean and re examine where your leaking from.

Check the power steering lines. There was a tsb on replacing the lines for the ps pump cause the xrack and leak. Gm repaired mine twice already for free. Check the ps fluid to see if you are loosing it.

So right after I wrote the post I checked the power steering and of course its low so that is leaking also so I should be covered in the gm warranty if it's just the line which most likely it is. But it was oil on the bottom of the engine. I checked the oil also and it was a quart and half low. I just checked it a couple weeks ago so I know its leaking cause of the obvious oil puddles. But I'm sure it has some power steering mixed in to the puddles too. Not sure if I have Two leaks in the exact same area or what. Been working too much to jack it up again and clean it off but I will soon hopefully.

de grease the engine and tranny and everything else under the hood. then keep a eye out for wet spots.

or just drop it off at the dealer. warranty's rule.

I think the high pressure line. But they typed in my Vin and said nothing came up for recalls. They said it could be made a certain month and have no recalls then the next month could have that recall and be covered. Sounds like something shady to me. Lol

I live in Angola which is in northeast Indiana right near the Michigan/ohio border. So don't see why this recall doesn't include me.

I ordered the high pressure hose from advance so it will be there later today so I might just do it myself and save the headache with the recall. But it would be nice to get an explanation why my car isn't covered because the line does not look like it's gonna be fun to replace.

Ive never heard of recalls running out..I brought my 97gtp with 160k on it last year to gm for a rack and pinion recall and they fixed it along with the valve cover gasket...maybe its the dealership being good to me??? Ive had my gxp power steering line replaced twice for free by my dealership..it was last done 10/13 when they installed my 3rd transmission under warranty..they actually told me it was leaking a little. The new power steering line is redesigned as well. The new one they put on is way different.

So I finally got the leaking power steering line fixed. Ended up being the o ring right at the pump. Couldn't tell cause fluid was all over every time I go to check it. But got it fixed and got to return the pressure line I bought so got to save a few bucks there. Just had to pull the belt off, the pump and pulley. Got to the oring and replaced it. All back to normal now. Thanks to everyone for there input and help.
