What's up everyone. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and all that stuff. I have a question.

So since it has gotten cold. Every time I go to fill my car up, the pump will click and pause like it is full, but it is NOWHERE near full. I have been to several different gas stations thinking it is the pumps. That cannot be the case. I am stuck on what this could be as I have never experienced anything like this. I might get $4 in gas in the car, then it will click every .50 cents or so from there. I have to wait about a minute to get another $4 in the car... Not sure what that is about, any help?

@Bio248 could this have something to do with the EVAP Solenoid that I replaced a few months back?

something is wrong with the vent solenoid, or a vent hose, or the canister tank its self. did the check engine light come on yet?

another thought, was the car running when your filling it? a few months back i was filling up with the car running and it kept clicking off the lock on the pump handle, i turned the car off and it took gas like normal. no light or issue since.

No check engine light currently and I have tried it with the car on and off. Same results...

your gonna have to go back into where the evap canister is and check things over.

I actually just picked my car up from the dealership for this issue. It was the Evap canister and it was clogged so they replaced it and now it works perfect again

I just replaced that evap canister 3 months ago @wrmo3. But interestingly enough, that is about the time this started.

Update: So this morning while putting gas in my car. I noticed that water was coming from the area of the evap solenoid while gas was entering the tank! I am totally confused on this. I hit the remote start twice that morning as it is 5 degrees here. Why would water come from the evap solenoid area?
