Help, my 2006 GXP just started what seems like missing/chugging and I can hear what sounds like air pressure when stepping on the gas peddle, any ideas what this is?? I have just over 115K miles on it.

    Thanks in advance.

    Replaced the spark plugs yet?

Could also be a vacuum leak somewhere.

OK. Let's calm down and fix this. Is the service engine light on? Has it had a tune up recently...like spark plugs and wires.
Sounds like it could be a vacuum leak. But we need to get rid of the easier to fix things first

No, the service engine light is not on. Tune up was done several thousand miles ago.

if it sounds like a vacuum with a full bag, the cat could be clogged up. like its trying to suck in air but it cant.

I agree. So check all the lines on top of motor to make sure their not ripped or broken. Check for vacuum leaks and all.

sorry, didn't meant to repost the previous, the sound seems like it is coming from the front driver side and only when its moving and the trans is engaged. When it's in park in the driveway, it doesn't miss or make the air sound when rev'd to 1500-2000 rpm as it does when driving/maintaining the same rpm.

sounds more and more like a clogged cat. you can pull the up stream o2 sensor, if it runs better ( with this exhaust leak) the cat is clogged up.

you can also drive it at night, get the car good and warmed up, get on it some, then pull over and look to see if the cat is glowing red, if so its shot.

you can also when the car is cold, bang on the cat, if you hear it rattling inside, its also shot.
