With him being in Canada where the winters are a little more harsh, would he be better off running a smaller cooler inline with his radiator cooler? If 213* is as hot as he's gotten, I'd suggest the smaller cooler. It should knock the temps down the 10 - 15 degrees he needs while helping with the warm up on sub freezing days. Might want to invest in a TransGo shift kit to. It will help with temps. I installed mine (still on my factory cooler, but V6 car) and I instantly saw a 15* reduction in temps while climbing my mountain going back home. I'd see upwards of 232*, now the hottest I've seen was 213* climbing behind a slow moving truck. Plus the shift kit will help trememdiously on wear and tear, not just a performance add on.
I'm with marines with suggesting a large cooler to bypass the stocker, but this is just my $.02. Just something else to think about if it's his primary driver year round...
