I have a check engine light that is intermittent. The code is PO335 crankshaft position sensor. Where is it located on the GXP motor. I have seen some how to's on replacing it but they are not for the 5.3 motor. Trying to decide it I want to do it myself or take it in. Any help would be great. Thanks

Go to gpona.net and create an account. Then on top right of their website theres a link for GM repair manuals. Log into that site with the same login u use on gpona. Enter ur vin and it'll pull up repair
Manual. They are very informative with pics,

hi, so looking at list post a couple years later - and gpona.net is no longer active Has anyone changed out a Crankshaft Position Sensor on a 2006 Grand Prix GXP or Impala SS? I have looked from above the engine, and below the engine - and cant see it? Any tips or pointers would be really appreciated. The only pic I found of its placement is attached. Says it is on drivers side rear of engine. I have removed the tire, and crawled under the car - but no luck.....

That's showing it to be up in between the trans and the engine. Look up above the the oil pan at the corner closest to the gas pedal. Driver side rear corner.

Thanks for the info! Appreciate it. Unfortunately I know where it is supposed to be - but I have no way to see it, or get access to it? I would love to change it out without removing the exhaust manifold.... any chance someone found a way to see/access it? Thanks for all your help.

Buy some headers, So you can justify to youreself the pain in the ass of removing the manifold lol
