I've been shopping for cams, new heads, and a dual exhaust kit from the headers back but I am having a hard time shopping around for the best bang for my buck. Does anyone have some sites to suggest or parts? I'm pretty new to this so the specs are driving me crazy. I've tried jegs but it was difficult to find the right stuff made for my car. And jcwhitney didnt have a lot to choose from. But like I said I'm aiming for dual exhaust including the headers back, new performance heads, cams, and probably some ignition stuff. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Edit: Or if someone can recommend a good speed shop in south jersey that would be awesome.

    Welcome to PRJ.Performance

Those are the only three 3800 related websites you really need to know for performance products. The rest just don't really cut it.

    PFYC

PFYC has a lot of good things as well. Performance wise and exterior/interior stuff.

Sorry I forgot to mention I drive a GXP with the LS4 motor. Should I build on this motor or buy a crate performance motor? It seems cheaper to get a performance motor (and easier I dont feel like doing the crank and pistions lol). Plus I recieved info that my tranny is going to be my worst enemy. Please point me in the right direction. Its been about a week of researching and I cant seem to figure out crap. I've joined 3 gp sites and pm'd others with gxp's but nobody knows nuffin!

its a chevy motor. well gm motor, how ever you wanna see it. go check summit for cams for the ls4, it doesent matter what vehicle its in cams will work. a cam really wakes up lsx motors too.

your tranny problew wont last to long tho once you go that route. your gonna want a built tranny. i dont know if tranny man does those trannies but im sure he can.

Hi, Keith. Not much available for these motors. You definitely want to go with a CAI, or FWI and the Magnaflow catback. From what I've heard, if you decide to put a different cam in, you will also have to change the lifters which will dissable your active fuel management.

As much as I love these forums, it would appear that the best information regarding performance mods for the GXP is going to be found in the LS4 section of LS1tech.com

Why not just make a V6 faster?

Thanks for the info guys. I dont mind the fuel management not working. I read that changing the cam and heads is a 100+ hp gain. I'm gonna have to go that route after I get my exhaust finished. I'll check out ls1tech for more info.
