I've looked on the forums and I never really see a finite answer.

I'm going to buy one of them (I know I can make it cheaper, but I want it to fit right, dont have the time, etcc).

I'm planning on getting the overkill tune and already have the magnaflow catback exhaust. I will be getting DT headers at some point in the not-so-distant future.

Which one is right for me?

    The K&N aircharger?

    Or something like this...

Pontiac Grand Prix GXP 2006 - CAI Air Intake System

    Thanks ahead of time.

I've had the K&N and it didn't perform any better than my custom made intake made with less than $50 in parts. If you have the money I'd go with the CAI system , it has a real heat shield unlike the crappy one that K&N sells which did next to nothing but provide a place to mount the TCM/ECM. That's all it was good for IMO. It also chaffed the **** out of the MAF adapter tube, which they then sent me a liner for the hole section.

I liked my K&N. It looks almost factory under the hood and my temps were down a few degrees over the custom intake setup I went to after my K&N tubing melted (I let my dad work on the car while i was at work, he had one of those lamps that is just a bulb and set it on there for a couple hours).

If I were to buy another intake, I'd probably get a K&N again, but for now, a cone and some tubing is working.

I wish i had some kind of heat sheild for my cone filter, i have the cartuning turbo kit and its jammed in right behind the headlight, i might try custom making somthing, unless ur getting the heatsheild box one, the k and N is not worth the money

    2005 GXP / Cartuning Turbo Kit / meth / Cutout / Ported LS4 intake Manifold / HP Tuned / Custom 3" Cat-Back / Highflow Cat / SSC Springs / Poly Dogbone Mount's / 2nd Tranny /
