I am just looking for some exhasut suggestions to put on my newly acquired GXP. I really like the way the 5300 sounds with no mufflers, but is this good for the motor? Some motors dont like the reduced back pressure.

If not, wht combo produces a nice deep/throaty loud v8 sound?

    Thanks,
    Eric

Can't go wrong with Flowmaster for a V8. I've always liked the way they sound. Magnaflow is good but a more mellow note.

is this loud enough?lol YouTube - Grand Prix with flowmasters(GXP) YouTube - grand prix gxp drive by to me that is loud, i do post these vids sometimes but rather than try to explain what flowmasters sound like on the gxp i just let them listen, to me i love it and it sounds good but its not for everyone because it is pretty loud. just 2 single chamber flows with res delete and knn intake. enjoy your new gxp whatever you choose.

I have noticed that the Flomasters do take a bit to get "Broken In" I had a buddy with a 5.3L and had Flowmaster 40's I believe. We drove 14 hrs straight the day after he got them installed. They kept getting louder and louder as we went. By the time we got back home they sounded completely different pretty throaty.

Has anyone tried Magnaflow on the GXP's yet? I love them on my GTP.

We have had nothing but good things to hear from customers about the SS catback from Magnaflow. It compliments a daily driven car perfectly.

They are also on sale for the next two days

they were $599 in the group buy the only reason why i bought them i still have to get money together for the rest of the exhaust. i'm thinking it will cost me another $600-$1000 for the headers back exhaust.

classic chambered mufflers sounds good. I run a open cut out after the resonator.

Same reason I bought them now instead of later, but because it's been long enough waiting that I've been able to get the money together. Still, the cam is the big restriction in my car (then the cat), not the exhaust manifolds. But saving $360 is worth doing things a little backwards.

What is the difference between a hogan downpipe and just cuuting the cat out of a exhaust system and replacing with a pipe?
