That 2006 wasn't such bad deal if the seller was negotiable. Don't think any less of a small town transmission shop, these transmissions are not rocket science and most every decent shop knows all about their short comings and the updates to factory failures. Contrary to popular belief not everyone needs a TEP transmission. If it really was replaced and has 10k you are already ahead of the game. The tranny should have never been put behind a V8, that's the real issue as this over stuffed engine compartment suffers from heat soak. The 2005 has less miles which is great but things fail with age too.
