I swapped the coolant reserve bottle on my 98 GTP today and I know it seems streightforward but theres no way to bolt it onto the car on the bottom. Theres a lil hole there but its not threaded and it doesn't go all the way to the other side where I could get a new nut/bolt combo to hold the bottom down. I am not driving the car yet so for now I zip tied it in place to hold the bottom from moving but I want something more secure. I had to drill new holes for the top two screws since they didnt match up but theres not enough room in the engine bay to get a drill and self tapping screw in there.

Anyone swap the coolant bottle in there 97/98 gp and run into this?? Any suggestions would be freatly appreciated.

In case someone runs into the same situation theres a special fastener for this. I had to look at a ton of websites before stumbling on it on the intense racing site.It is a GM part so it will be easier to go get it at the dealer. If I knew this would have been such a P.I.T.A. I would have took pics and made a how to for the 97-98 gtp guys since it SEEMS like a streight forward thing.

I just used a bolt with washers to fasten it at the bottom. I almost did a write up myself. I found directions on this on thrashers website. It was showing how to install their CAI and also showed how to change the bottle.
