Right, I see that and agree on pics of the other side of the head. Looks like a bent valve on the one that's stuck partially open on the one that's shorter and neither rocker bolts look like they are tight.

Ok guys got back to the car and whew... That valve is done:

... But my pistons are fine? I Dont get it.. bottom end is fine.. And no issues car was running with no issues before i did the front head gasket so it definitely needs a new valve but do you think i can resuse this head? They are stg 3 ported lol Also i pulled the rear head just for clarity and those heads are fine with no issues...im stumped...

it looks like the bottom of the valve bounced around int hat head some, its kind beat up looking.

wheres the bottom of the valve?

Wow, carnage indeed. That valve was definitely bouncing around in there for awhile. How is it possible it was running "with no issues"? You had to have heard that valve slamming around in there, and you definitely didn't have any spark in that cylinder.

I would really be interested in a picture of that piston. Will be a miracle if its in good shape. I wouldn't run that head, no way. You would have to clean that combustion chamber up, probably have new seats pressed in and by the time it's smoothed out its gonna be more than a few cc's smaller than the other chambers.

or is the valve bottom gone 100%? like in your mufflers now lol

Putting new seals on , I like to use a deep 10mm socket and tap down the seals until they seat.

I would check the rear head as well

edit - I just re read your post. You already pulled the head and the valve hasn't fallen out yet? Now I'm confused
still confused how it continued to run with out any damage to the cylinder. Where is the rest of the valve ?

Sometimes ya gotta give up on finding the truth but like I always say: if it quacks and waddles, its usually a duck.

Wonder if those punked out heads had back-cut valves, stem looks tiny and yep that valve head could be smithereens. I would not want to use anything over, too many burrs on everything that could cause preignition.

You may want to get your hearing, feeling and eyes checked.
That head is effed up beyond help. That was making one hell of a racket because you were running on 5 cylinders with the valve head bonking around in the cylinder for what appears to be a very long time. Everyone in a car near you heard it, felt it, saw the unburned crap coming out of the cylinder. FYI, now I'm thinking you are deaf, dumb and blind.

Nope, they will tell him to start over. Know the funny thing... he was following your "no ic" advice. Damn...we should consider this your fault and that would make two engines in two months... lol

Anyone that has ever worked on an engine knows that piston and cylinder are fubared. Hence no picture. He "was just gonna replace a used head gasket" for no apparent reason.

I call BS from the beginning. Own up to it Jay.. because right now we all think you are a deaf, dumb, blind lyin mofo.

Lol. That's impressive. No way no how the piston is whole. I mean 3800s chip pistons when they have a bad day......no chance in hell that a valve bouncing around didn't explode it. And the only way you didn't hear or feel that happen is if you werent driving it....ever. Ray Charles could see that. AND he's blind. And DEAD!!

He drives his car hard with half ass tunes. Told him a few weeks ago he was gonna blow another motor. But he won't leave the platform alone. Can't tell him nothing either
