    98 grand prix gtp my number 6. on the 3 6 coil pack keeps going bad I've changed it atleast 6 times in the last 4 months I've changed the module out also these were all used coil packs could it be the wiring going to module or two bad module...any thoughts????

    Are they oem coil packs? Only thing possible if the icm got changed and it still happens, is maybe one of the wires or plugs on that coil are bad.

    Also how are they going bad? What are the symptoms?

    I can take plug wire off n there's no spark or very little spark Idk if there oem.

    How do the plugs and wires (at least on 6 and 3) look? Were you testing for spark from the wire at the engine or directly off the coil pack with another wire? Wires can go bad, and moving them around can change whether they carry a spark. Although with the very hv these put out wires are rarely able to stop a spark.

    Everything is new there's no spark when I take boot off of 6 there is spark when I take it off 3 and I tested the module with the coil pack off with test light 3 lit up 6 did not this was directly after I switched out the icm with a spare I had lastnight

    rearrange the coil packs and see if the dead cylinder is still the same if it is you have a junk icm.

    I got a used icm with coil packs $40 junk yard fixed it
