    Ok so last night I was driving my car down the road and I was cruising at like 40ish I go to accelerate and my car acts like it's in neutral, engines revving up but it won't go into gear. So I pulled into a nearby parking lot and turned off the car, when I went to start it it wouldn't crack... One of my friends was with me and they thought they could hear the starter working (or at least trying to) but the belts weren't moving... What could be the problem and how much is it gonna run me to fix it?

    maybe try putting the car in neutral then try to start it. or also jiggle the shiftier back and fourth.

    you can also try jumping the starter motor. as well as testing for power at the small wire on the starter when the key is turned to crank.

    I Did tr. Putting it in neutral to start it and the same thing happened and I will give the other things a go when I have the chance probably tomorrow
