2003 GTP. A few months ago I did my LIM replacement thanks to help from you guys

    I also swapped out:

    - water pump
    - power steering pump
    - plastic coolant elbows for metal elbows
    - coolant temp sensor
    - thermostat
    - spark plugs

I have not experienced any issues since all the work...except one. The temperature will rise up to the large hash mark before the red zone - I guess this is 240. At this point it's cooling down ok but using fans. After this first time it will hover around 210 and not get too much warmer. So it seems like the first cycle gets the hottest and it's reasonable from this point. I don't remember having this issue before the LIM replacement work.

Initially I thought it was air in the coolant so I did several burp cycles using the bleeder screw. No luck. Then I got one of the Lisle funnels and followed the process for burping again. Didn't make a difference.

Any suggestions on some things to try?

try another t stat, they can be bad brand new.

the temp sensor, those are well know to be dead brand new in the box. most have to swap it 3 times till they get one that works right.

if you had a t app, see what it says your temps are.

Is there an easy way to swap out the coolant temp sensor? I was actually trying to get to it without too much work; tried an extended 19mm socket and crescent wrench. I can get on it but no room to turn.

Any way to get air out of the LIM?

    Thanks as always!
