Thread: engine will start only if

Id figure id right about whats going on with my car.

So every single time i go to start it up i must give it a little gas as soon as it starts up, if i just start it up without touching the gas peddal it goes way below ideling rpm's and dies in a few seconds. It does this every time. Im not sure wat this could be. If i tap the gas just a little bit or however much i want it will be fine and it will idel fine.

Tiny vac leak ?

Or maybe a TPS or sticky TB plate ?

Do you think its cause of my chrome oil breather ?

well my scanner didnt read anything soo idk

Put a stock one back on and see if it fixes the problem !

you should not have a breather unless you blocked off the pcv.

Yea i hear 50/50 its ok and then its not ok. But im gonna put the stock one back on when ever i find it.

If you have to hold the throttle open to keep it running it may be a problem with the IAC. Even with only 20K miles on my car the IAC was pretty dirty.

Never mind. That is a weird problem you have. With the XP and extremely cold weather I have to do the same thing only I hold it slighly open for a second to get the initial air to the engine.

Yea it is probably something to do with the cold weather.
