    I can get cloyes chain and dampener for dirt cheap from my work but just wondering if people are using these or just going to the dealer for the acdelco ones for mild cam setups.

    iirc the cloyes set and the gm sets i had were identical.
    id guess that cloyes makes the sets for GM/ac delco/delphi

    The dampeners look different but i cant tell quality from a picture.

    the melling/cloyes damper is the one you want..its a solid uniform gray color...the bad ones will have a metal flake type sheen to it that youll see swirl marks across the middle (where it tends to snap)

    the newer solid color units (no metal flake look at all, just drab grey) are much sturdier without that weak spot at the plastic injection point
