The cam bearings CAN be done in car...without pulling the crank...just like doing a cam swap... However, it's a GIANT PITA and I don't recommend it. I also recommend letting a machine shop do it out of simplicity sake. You take them the engine and most shops will do the bearing install for less than $100.
