Need help, believe I need to replace throttle body. Butterfly is not opening all the way, I am looking on line for part (ebay). Although the part number does not match the number on the top of housing. Need to know cross reference? Also will a series II engine have the same one?

Take it off and use throttle body cleaner on the inside and use either and/or a rag or toothbrush to clean all the gunk and carbon off.

1.Disconnect the wires from the TB.
2.Take off the TB and spray carb cleaner all over the inside of the TB
    3. Use a paper towel to get the rest of the carbon build up off.
    4.Clean it perfectly
    5. Install and test drive for a week

Car has 234,000 on it, sensors says throttle position issue. It is attached to the throttle body directly.

We know it is attached to the throttle body directly.... Get a low mileage one from the JY and try that. Linkage is probably worn to hell

Right, but what all does it cross reference with? Is it the same as non-supercharged engine? Is a series II the same?

Nope needs to be series 3..series 2 wasn't drive by wire. Just grab one from a 04-08 L26 or L32 doesn't matter if it's SC or not.

Thank you, figure II would not work. Have been getting conflicting information, agree with yard idea however wondering of the units sold on e-bay (rang from 100 to 400). I am concerned as I am aware you get what you pay for with electronics.

When you say it's clean, I am sure you are speaking of what you see and not what you don't see (Engine side of the throttle body.) I can assure you that at 234k it's pitch black and needs to be soaked up really good.

If you buy a new one, make sure it shines on both sides.

I know it is clean because I have cleaned it myself. The ones on E-bay are new ones, company by the name of Harko out of Florida and others. Units look good but since after market and cost difference don't know if there is a real difference on the units. Throttle body is pretty simple so assuming the electronics may be substandard but not sure.
