take the driver side back wheel off, then unscrew the plastic cover, behind it is the evap canister fill hoses and another solenoid on the top of the canister tank. theres a few line to and from this tank, see if any or broken or off.

some times the canister tank just takes a crap, if its got gas inside, ( you'll have to unbolt it and shake it) then it needs to be changed.

Ordered a new resistor off eBay for 35 bucks. Had it start rough as hell twice yesterday, no codes. When it finally started it ran like the timing was off, any gas choked it out and died. Several times it just turned over and didn't start at all. Fuel pump kicked on every time, it's obvious it's in high speed mode. I had a similar issue before that turned out to be the plug wires grounding out because I busted those **** plastic clips when I did the Plugs and wires and didn't think to tie them away from metal. I reinspected all those and they seemed fine. I've been driving most of today and haven't had an issue yet, the only thing I've done differently is remove the plastic cover on top of the engine and fill the tank up.

    No broken lines.
No fluid sound when I shake the big canister, I took the solenoid apart and it's wet inside. I ordered a new one and will install it today. If the old one was wet, what's to keep this new one from getting wet and malfunctioning too?

P0453 still present after solenoid change. What's next? Canister? That's like 130 from the parts store. May try to find a low mile junkyard car for that.

did you clear the code? or are you waiting for it to clear its self? cause it will take time to go off by its self.

Cleared it, drove it 5 mins, ran codes again, showed as pending. Drove it for an hour, ses came on. No longer pending, actual fault.

Still having issues. Now when I fill up the tank there's a pool of gas leaking near the drivers rear. As near as I can tell it's coming from the solenoid, because it looks wet. Do I need to replace the big canister?

id take the cover off so you can see in there while filling it up. it could be a rusted filler tube/hose and its the evap leak.

a gas can would work at home too.

Could explain the nauseating fuel smell, since it's a direct port to the tank. I'll check tomorrow.
