Not IC yet but will be in the distant future. Em my buttdyno says I'm making at least 1000hp lol.
Not fair. I haven't put my spoiler, stickers, and ground effects on my car yet! I'm hoping to be around 800 after that. I heard the ZZPerformance decal adds 500hp alone w/o a tune.
I'm trying to decide whether to go e85 or IC.. or Both. lol

If GTOs didn't cost so damn much, I would look into one of those.

dont bother with the VS or S1X cams... go straight to the biggest cam for stock heads which is the XP. If its tuned properly you will not lose any bottom end torque.
You will regret not having gone a bigger cam if you put the VS in... trust me. I even wish I'd gone bigger than XP and got headwork done etc...
When I got my XP cam done and tuned it idles like a stocker and to be honest if someone would have come into my garage and secretly done it overnight without my knowledge I wouldnt even have noticed it... until I step on it and go over 3500rpm that is
So basically drivability is exactly the same only with much more mid- and top end power than before... (I had 1.98 modded rockers on before)
Why e-85 anyways? Isn't that just "better for the environment"?
And so the XP side finally speaks up. Quite the decision for me lol

Here's another scenario to keep in mind... I haven't looked around yet to see if there is a dyno tuner around me, but I'm thinking probably not. So it looks like I would be going the hptuner route. Obviously I have a lot of reading up to do yet on how to correctly tune it myself. But I just don't trust getting a company to make me a tune to work with my car reliably considering the variance in each car and the weather I see up here. And a dyno might not be much different. Winter here is VERY different compared to down south where you guys are lol I want to know my car won't knock like crazy when I reach those temps.
So for the cams, and considering I have never messed around with tuning before, should I stick away from anything particularly tricky to get right?

Well you have Will at Overkill he's somewhere In Canada and really you shouldn't be to worried mail order PCM work fine for most everybody just get one from a we known company.. When it comes winter time you can just pulley up.
Can you just simply swap pullies to a larger one when the air gets colder, without messing with the tune and causing problems?

Yup.. Most of the time guys do the opposite the cold air allows you to pulley down for the most part and kills any KR that you may of had during the warmer months.
I thought the denser air causes more boost which in turn is like using a smaller pully? Causing more knock?

Yes.. But also allows some guys to pulley down more then others. KR is always I concern but that's why you'll have something to scan with just in case. You can always pulley up durning the winter it won't hurt anything because let's face it when winter hits I bet the last thing your going to want to do is to make wot runs. Most of the time you'll probably be driven it conservative and dreaming about those summer months.
Daven this should be able to answer your question about what cam to get. From what speed do you want to race? If it's from a dig or 30 to around highway speeds, the VS cam is superior. The XP takes the cake on the highway and higher RPMs.
