I just had to extend my new Denso front plug for my SD's. Your best bet is to extend the car side harness since it is copper and you can solder to it. If you've already cut your plug off your O2 sensor, you can use crimps, no soldering because they are stainless steel wires.

I ended up cutting the old wire at the sensor, and new wire at the plug and crimping them together. Only ran the car a little while to get it up to temps to test the headers, but it didn't throw a code.

Your aftermarket plug only has 3 wires? Factory has 4, but I think there is 2 ground wires.

That's the same o2 sensor I'm using on my car and the wire on mine was just long enough to reach the harness. Didn't need to splice or extend however it has been throwing codes ever since and car runs like it has a mis at times on top of weird fluctuating gas mileage.

Do not cut the sensor harness for the o2 sensor. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1567396963-post4.html
You can also make your own extension harness if you want, just swipe the connectors off a car in the pick n pull.

The problem isn't splicing them, it's soldering them.

dmah, you said your car ran like it had a misfire. Was that once it went into closed loop, or was that even in open loop? Just checking, cause I spliced my wires at the sensor (stupid idea) and it has a slight misfire at idle.

exactly, the o2 pig tail off the o2 has a stainless steel wire, it wont solder, but the cars harness is all copper, and you can make that plug longer no problem as they are all copper wires.

Yea its basically when I'm cruising and car is warmed up. Happens about 80% of the time when I drive. Its not a misfire but feels like one. Got my codes scanned and all of them point to the upstream o2 sensor. I'm going to get another one soon.
