In regards to headers, I would recommend doing it and getting it done. They really aren't that bad to install. Unless you plan on going turbo, you're never going to max out headers, and they are cheaper and more effective than any combination of manifold/downpipe setup you can buy. The hardest part about doing my headers was sliding them together only because I didn't have a tool to increase the diameter of the crossover pipe.

Also, do you scan for KR? If not, there's a cheap way to do it which uses an Android phone with the app 'Torque' and the ELM 327 OBDII Bluetooth transceiver.

Right now besides regular maintenance, is headers. Get some Speed Daddy headers first. You need to let the car throw out all that exhaust gas that the manifolds are holding in with how restrictive they are.

A downpipe, plog and rockers are the mods that I would say are the most useless mods for our cars, a plog and downpipe is going to cost you about the same if not more than headers, so you might as well do headers. Rockers are just not worth what they cost compared to a cam. These are just my opinions I'm not stating them as fact.
If I remember correctly stock you should be at like 8psi.

Agreed. I did a cam and headers at the same time. Killed two birds with one stone. Now I just wish I would have went with the most radical cam I could, because I am starting to feel more power syndrome lol.

More power and just about the same if not better mpg.

Ps: your friend sounds like he doesn't know **** about Grand Prix well the 3800 platform in general you should stop asking him for advice and listen to folks that actually own those cars

That's absurd, you're not living if you don't cam it lol. Do it once and get it done and you'll LOVE it. I went with the VS cam and I love the low end power. My setup is VS Cam, Headers, HAI, and ZZP 3.4", and I average 28 on the highway and just got like 32.4 when just cruising to school.
