I replaced my coupler about 2yrs ago (8k miles) and already its sounds wore out. S/C has 142k on it, all stock, so I doubt its the rotors/bearings. Everything seemed tight when I had the snout off last. It sounds like a coupler, only audible at idle. The replacement was a Dorman, is there a better brand?

dorman couplers dont last, they are worse then stock realy.

go to ebay and get a green coupler, or zzp's coupler. the ebay one is like 20 bucks. a bit more with oil.

Cool, thanks guys... Wouldn't be a big deal if the oil didn't stink so bad. Im pretty desensitized to automotive stank (silicone/brake cleaner etc), but I don't think I'll ever get used to SC oil. Nasty stuff

Agreed on dorman couplers, have 3-4k on one and it made noise after the first week.

I just don't care enough to fix it right now lol.
