OK ive got a question for you guys! ON a 2001 gtp it needs valve cover gaskets front one easy ok now on to the rear one Question will the valve cover come off without taken the bracket with the water elbows in it off??? WHO wants to be lucky and answer that and either make my day or make it way worse THANKS ROD!!

Depends on the year.. I believe 97 had a different bracket that didn't require it but more then likely you'll have to remove the tensioner.. Replace the elbows with aluminum ones if you do

You shouldnt have to remove the bracket but since you are doing a gasket replacement why not do it right and do both?

You can loosen the bracket up and get the vc past it without pulling the bracket clear off.

It had to be moved about an inch when I did mine, which broke the original plastic elbows.

Being an 01 you'll have to move the valve cover like an inch as previously said. And as long as you already have all the bolts loose you may as well take the elbows out and replace them. Otherwise your more than likely gonna be replacing them after you start the car up and realize there is coolant leaking from them because they cracked when you moved them that one inch.

I did the same, moved it an inch, started it up and realized coolant was leaking. Just do them both at the same time, they're inexpensive and avoids extra work.

Get aluminum elbows too. They're only a couple bucks more and when you inevitably have to replace your LIM gaskets you'll be able to re-use them. If you get plastic you'll be replacing them again.

Now when you put it back together, don't use the long bolt ontop for the alternator because it'll go straight through the valve cover.
See many people mess that up.

It's really not much harder at all to replace the elbows. It's 3 15mm bolts and tap the alternator bracket with a rubber mallet and the bracket is out.
Make sure you get all of the old elbows out. They like to break where the o-rings are at and you have to pull the last piece of plastic out with a pick

Since it wasn't mentioned, get the FelPro kit that includes the new gaskets AND the grommets for the valve cover bolts. You need to replace both of those or the covers may leak again.
