Thats what i was wondering. Right now all I have is a shortblock sitting here, completely bare. How much work to put the double on? I read somewhere there may be machining involved?

Oil pump cover has to be machined.. Plus you have to take out the balancer shaft.. Or at least take the gear off it.

Not much info on that. Where would I get this done (that knows what they are doing)?

I run the s1x with a stock chain and dampener. Been just dandy for 12k miles now. The 90# springs are actually harder on the dampener due to the ramp rate. Most guys run 105s and have no issues.

Since were talking about cams would i be ok to run a s1x with 1.7 rollers, with stock heads? Or would i be better off with a vs for that?

Would a single roller be a happy medium? That much better than a stock chain?

    Just another option:

    Overkill SBC2 cam
    214/224 .507/.507 116LSA 114ICL

You'd need to phone CompCams to custom order a grind number of 3326/3307 HR116+2

12499224 Valve springs (set of 16, you'll have 4 spares), and caps 10166344 (quantity 12) and run stock TC set, stock lifters, pushrods, rockers etc. Simplified reliable setup that will make 300+ wheel horsepower with headers, 3" exhaust, GenV/Northstar and the right tuning.

Can be run on 1.7 rockers on stock heads with the appropriate setup.
