. I spent a day reading about everything on this.
My conclusion was to just buy the GM S/C oil.
The one thing I noted was they were different because of this

This is my custom built 150cc scooter. (I know i'll probably get ripped on for ridding a scooter but hey i get 80-90mpg so keep laughing)
It is a 50cc Peace Motorsports Frame with a 150cc Gy6 Dirtbike Motor . I made the motor mount to attach the engine to the frame myself as 150cc's are top mount and 50cc's are bottom mounted. I built it for about 226 dollars.
100.00- 50cc Gy6 Scooter
100.00- 150cc Gy6 Dirtbike
18.00- Stator (to get 150cc engine running)
2.00-JB Weld
4.00-Welding Wire
2.00-Grinding Wheels
The 150cc motor is completley stock. It does 65/66 mph (GPS and follow by car Verified)
I plan on doing a few modifications to it. I already put a free flowing air filter on it right before taking these pics and since then I've added a bigger carb, a kevlar CVT belt and FMF exhaust.
Hahaha that's awesome we need a video of it in action obviously probably not going to happen this time of the year.
thats cool. but do you need to register a moped in indy? mopeds, aka scooters are 50 cc for a reason, it only goes 35 mph lol so if its still registered as a scooter, and a cop see's you doing 60 mph, well guess what? hes gonna think your a motorcycle. then theres false reg, no bike lic and so on.
little secret, id ride it around town. for those mpg, f it.
Here's the best video I could get of it right now. I had riding video with my go pro but I can't find it.
I asked the BMV here and they wouldn't register it because the title says 49cc and they won't register anything under 50 so I just put insurance in it. It only cost 75 for a whole year and I have a motorcycle endorsement so as long as i'm not speeding i've never had a problem.

thats a cool little scooter. i could hear the engine saying, hey wtf are you doing, im cold let me be.
hows are thos china bikes built, they ok or cheap as hell? i was almost ready to buy one some years back, but the china made part and the customer reviews were bad for every model.
parts were a problem too when i was looking at them.
Yeah it doesn't run too well under 40 degrees which is fine cuz below 50 you freeze your a$$ off riding anyways.
The quality isn't great but you get what you pay for. The motor's themselves actually are not bad at all as long as you take car of them. Knowing how to fine tune a carb is a must and as soon as you buy one the first thing you'll want to do is get a bigger jet. The companies that build them put way too small of jets in them to make tham pass US emissions and I'm sure you know how bad running a motor lean is. Especially an air cooled one.
I had a yellow 50cc since I was 14 that made it to almost 18,000 miles which isn't bad for a 500 dollar vehicle.
The plastics are what really is crap. They break so easily and are held together by plastic tabs that break if you look at them wrong. Nothing a little duct tape can't fix.
i had a negrini back in the day, came with a 50 cc engine that i upped to a 65 cc with a new piston and cylinder. and yes a new larger carb jet. my first mods lol
mine was black and gold. just swap the red for black. it did a good 50 mph.
Back on topic, this was discussed a bit before in this thread: http://www.grandprixforums.net/showt...ghlight=mobil1 . Basically found about a 20 degree temp drop. How well it actually lubricates, who knows.
The facts about the differences in the Supercharger oil being Glycol and Mobil1 and the like being hydrocarbon and shouldn't be mixed from this site posted by spazzz is interesting: http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...up-pics-5.html
In the oil comparison thread, it was noted GM dealers could use Mobil1 if supercharger oil wasn't available so who knows.
