I herd a gtp on the internet with a BOV and it sounded really bad ass. Can you put a universal Bov on a gtp or do you have to use a special one since it is supercharged and not turboed?

You cannot put a bov on a blower. If so please post the link, otherwise delete this thread or wear the flame suit of hell.
    Comp Turbo 6765 T4-ST5-A2A IC-Ported Heads-Custom Turbo headers-80 lb inj-F-Body UIM and LIM-AEM WB, TEP trans w 1" chain and Circle D TC, Dual 255s, Bilstien Struts
WHY IS EVERYONE SO OPPOSED TO DOING A COMPRESSION TEST TO TROUBLESHOOT PROBLEMS?

t24moore, one of the best things about this site is the fact that you can ask questions without getting "flamed" like other sites. Challenges to answers are part of the learning process, but we tend to keep it light around here. Everybody starts somewhere and every question is welcomed.

Basically if you want to "flame" go to those other sites and do it. We do not flame here!

Thank you Blown97. Yeah, lets keep it light around here.

Yeah, some of the questions can be so repetitive and answered so many times you want to just want to throw a brick at someone, but everyone is on a different learning level so you have to take that into account. I know there are plenty of forums out there that would lead you to believe you have to constantly wear a flame suit but we aim to be the exception to the rule here.

Just keep it light and fun and all will be good.

You can put a BOV on a supercharger.

Supercharger BOV [Archive] - Club RSX Message Board

I asked my friend about it and he cant find the website either. He said that it wasnt the original engine in the gtp, it was centrifugal. Pretty much the only thing "grand prix" was the exterior. Trust me, im not a dumb ass, i know i herd a BOV. If we can find the website ill post it on here.

Case and point..... supercharger does'nt need a BOV. Don't put one on it.

if he had a CSC then yes, he probably had a BOV.

a CSC is probably one of THE best setups these cars can have minus a turbo kit if youre going for big power. the powerband on a CSC is just so linear and perfect for how our car runs and drives. i wish they still sold them, i would switch over.

I dont think anyone called you or accused you of being one!

What was merely pointed out is that Blow Off Valves are more prominent on a turbo set up than anything. You may have very well heard a BOV but it was a turbo set up or as pointed out, a CSC type supercharger set up, which is even less common than the turbo set up on the Grand Prix.

But on a stock M90 supercharger set up, there is no Blow Off Valve, there is a Boost Bypass Valve but that isnt going to make any sound or anything like a BOV.

Mine lets off a big blast of air if I get a downshift , let it get up to 6k, then let off of the gas.

A BOV on a roots blower is like a screen door on a submarine. Besides, it already has something similar. It's called the boost bypass valve.
