    Hey All!

I'm FINALLY finishing up this LIM gasket job. Lot's of lessons learned and lots of problems found and fixed that I didn't know I had originally.

Now, I've got the Supercharger back on and I'm not 100% sure where the bolts go.

Here is what I have in the baggie labeled "Supercharger:

The bottom left one that says "SC Passenger rear" I somehow think I mislabeled and it needs to go on the Driver's rear corner. I don't know why I think that. It was a while ago when I pulled it apart.

Anyway, some help sorting out where these bolts go would be a HUGE help.

    Thanks!

    Adam

OK, so the medium length 8 bolts I pretty much found the locations for. Two went into the locating pin holes and the other six just went around in obvious places.

The two short ones I don't think hold the S/C down at all but are used to mount a bracket with some kind of electrical deal on it (Anyone know that electrical deal is???)

So, really the only question is the two long ones. The top one labeled "SC Front" I put in the thick part of the supercharger flange to the left of the snout in the front. The one with the nut on top of it I put at the rear of the engine in the thick flange.

But, what goes under that nut - if I do indeed have that rear long bolt in the right place?

I didn't torque anything down yet - just went hand tight since I haven't received a reply on here yet.

    Thanks again!

Thanks for snapping the pic, man. Yeah, I have the two small ones on the bracket.

I think now it's just what the hell goes under the stud bolt. From what ericspecullaas I was correct that I mislabeled the bolt with the stud on top.

Bottom left in the FIRST PIC AT THE TOP OF THE THREAD with all the bolts laid out. I actually think I figured it out. It mounts a tab that's on the circular "shield thing" that goes around the whatever the hell it is on the exhaust. Is that the EGR valve?

I circled the part I'm talking about. There's a tab that goes over that rear S/C bolt on the stud on top and then nut goes over that and gets tightened.

Yup.. you got it. The stud goes in teh back supercharge aka rear driver and then the egr shield, and nut. The two short ones hold the map sensor bracket.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

This is true. I was a GM tech and got out of it right when this platform first hit the streets. While I feel my knowledge is above par, it is impossible to beat the collective resources on this forum.

For sure! I've been into cars my whole life and even built a 400 HP Small Block Chevy for my Nova when I was 19. But the modern cars I don't have a lot of experience with. This forum not only saved me from a project that was way over my head, but got me into the whole 3800 platform and feeling good about owning the GTP in general.

I feel like a "car guy" again as opposed to a "used to be a car guy."

    Thanks everyone - especially Bill!

Adam.. wanna feel into the 3800's.. just stop in one day.

There's three L67's on the floor, two mated to transmissions, a dead L36 that needs to be returned for a core charge, wiring harnesses, dipsticks/tubes hanging on the wall, parts galore basically. Those are all next to the tools to get the job done.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
